Overview

The Information Systems Bridge program responds to the growing demand for professionals who possess a deep understanding of how technology can be harnessed to address significant societal challenges. Students join the program from over 25+ non-STEM fields, including the arts, architecture, nursing, legal, and more. After completing three bridge courses in engineering foundations, they move into the standard curriculum for the MS in Information Systems degree.

The innovative curriculum is broad and deep, helping students become problem-solvers who design groundbreaking software solutions that fit within the complexities of the business world and solve the humanistic needs of the people who use them. The program places emphasis on the humanistic aspects of technology design, ensuring that solutions are developed with the end-users’ needs and experiences in mind.

Student Experiences

On campus, Jinxiang stands next to a large monitor showing a slide that reads "Building an AI Agent for On-Chain Interaction" as she begins her presentation for both an audience in the room and several people logged in on Zoom

Jinxiang (Lucia) Wang Shares Lessons Learned On-Chain

Lucia’s bachelor’s degree is in nursing, but her interest in data led her to engineering. During her internship, she led a team of engineers as they developed an AI agent for Smart Contracts on the blockchain.

“The biggest shift for me was seeing first-hand that, even if your code works, it’s useless if your users can’t navigate an overly complex system design. I want to design systems that are not just correct, but also intuitive and user-friendly,” she says. “Now I’m thinking like an engineer.”
