Coursework to Co-ops: Why Northeastern
8-9 a.m. Pacific TimeVirtual
Experiential learning is built into the Northeastern model from the foundations up.
For over 125 years, Northeastern has been known for its unique approach to education, anchored in experiential learning. Supporting students in finding internship and co-op opportunities is a cornerstone, but we’ve been in this field long enough to understand it isn’t one size fits all.
As an incoming graduate student, you may wonder:
- If I’m already working full-time, how do I add industry experience to my degree?
- What happens if I apply for internships but don’t get one?
- Is graduate research relevant for people planning private sector careers?
- If I already have a project I’m working towards, how can a graduate degree support that?
During this information session, we’ll try to address some of these questions. Our team will explore the many ways Northeastern’s signature model of experiential learning applies to our graduate programs. These events are focused on how this approach to education is applied throughout our campus network in the U.S., U.K., and Canada.
You’ll learn about:
- Internship or co-op placements and how they fit into a graduate degree.
- Student research opportunities
- In-class projects sourced from industry partners
- Opportunities on and off campus for networking and professional development.
There will also be time for questions and discussion, so come prepared with anything that you’d like to know about how experiential learning is supported by your campus or program of choice.
