Join us during Women’s History Month for a fireside chat with Kate Lee, Software Engineering Manager at Apple, moderated by Hannah Kang, Experiential Learning Specialist at Northeastern in Silicon Valley. This event is open to Northeastern alumni, current students, and interested community members, and will include time for networking and conversation.

Kate Lee has over 10 years experience as an iOS developer, software engineer, and software engineering manager leading full stack teams. Currently at Apple, her previous experience includes LTK and X (formerly Twitter), where she was an employee of over six years’ tenure at the time of the hostile takeover of the company. Kate, originally from Southern California, graduated from UC Berkeley and since then has built her career in Silicon Valley. She is passionate about mentorship and empowering other women in the tech space.
In this conversation, Kate will share insights from her experience on topics that face many women as they build their careers in tech:
- Moving from individual contributor to management
- Forging a path in a volatile landscape of layoffs and shifting priorities
- Balancing a demanding career with parenthood and passion projects
This event is affiliated with Northeastern University’s Women Who Empower initiative, which serves to connect women in the university network for mentorship, knowledge sharing, and events. The group also sponsors funding opportunities for entrepreneurs through the annual Innovator Awards.
